Better Ways to Express Your Opinions in English!
If you always say «I like it», that’s fine—but if you want to sound more fluent and natural, try using different expressions! In English, there are many ways to talk about your likes and dislikes. Let’s explore them!
1. Stronger Ways to Say «I Like It»
If you really like something, try these instead of just «I like it»:
✅ «I love it!» (¡Me encanta!)
✅ «I’m a big fan of it!» (Soy un gran fan de…)
✅ «I absolutely love it!» (¡Lo amo absolutamente!)
✅ «I’m really into it!» (Me gusta mucho.)
✅ «I’m obsessed with it!» (¡Estoy obsesionado con esto!)
Example:
❌ «I like this song.»
✅ «I love this song! I’m obsessed with it!»
2. More Casual Ways to Say «I Like It»
If you like something but not too much, use these expressions:
✅ «It’s pretty good.» (Está bastante bien.)
✅ «It’s not bad.» (No está mal.)
✅ «I kind of like it.» (Me gusta un poco.)
✅ «It’s alright.» (Está bien.)
Example:
❌ «I like this coffee.»
✅ «It’s pretty good!»
3. How to Say You DON’T Like Something
If you don’t like something, don’t just say «I don’t like it»—try these instead:
✅ «I’m not a big fan of it.» (No soy muy fan.)
✅ «It’s not my thing.» (No es lo mío.)
✅ «I don’t really like it.» (Realmente no me gusta.)
✅ «I can’t stand it!» (¡No lo soporto!)
✅ «I hate it!» (¡Lo odio!)
Example:
❌ «I don’t like horror movies.»
✅ «I’m not a big fan of horror movies.»
4. Expressing Your Opinion About Something
When you want to give your opinion in English, try these:
✅ «In my opinion…» (En mi opinión…)
✅ «I think…» (Creo que…)
✅ «I’d say…» (Yo diría que…)
✅ «From my point of view…» (Desde mi punto de vista…)
✅ «Personally, I think…» (Personalmente, creo que…)
Example:
❌ «I like learning English.»
✅ «Personally, I think learning English is really interesting!»
